Maybe it’s the friend who confessed, "My husband had to go back to work after only two weeks, and I was just... lost. The breastfeeding was so hard, I was in pain, and honestly, I felt guilty for not enjoying those first few weeks. We’ve been there too. We, Priya and Kate, know the landscape of early motherhood intimately – the exhaustion, the steep learning curves, the feeling of being solely responsible for this new life while your own needs fade into the background. Kate vividly remembers her midwife, moments after her son Daniel’s birth, saying, "Okay, just bring him to your breast and nurse him…" “Nurse him???” she thought, a wave of defeat washing over her. “I hadn’t even considered nursing. Is the course really self-paced? Absolutely self-paced, the 42-day structure is a guide, not a rigid deadline.
What if I'm having a C-section? Is the content still relevant? Yes, principles of nourishment, rest, support are universal, and specific considerations can be addressed, although we don’t speak specifically to C-section recovery in this course.
How will this course support my partner and caregiving team? This course provides educational material and context for understanding postpartum and how to provide mother-centered care and containment during this first six weeks. It’ll give a confidence boost to any doubt or fears partners have about how to support.
